Amrou Al-Kadhi is a queer, Iraqi non-binary Brit. They are established drag performer whose work has received five-star reviews in The Scotsman and The Guardian and performed sell out shows at The Soho Theatre. A screen-writer, author, director and actor, Amrou has written for Attitude Magazine and contributes to The Observer, The i-Paper, i-D Magazine, Dazed, Little White Lies, CNN, Zed Bokos, Saqi Books and the BFI.
Author of Unicorn: The Memoir of a Muslim Drag Queen, the story of how they went from a god-fearing Muslim boy enraptured with their mother, to Glamrou; a vocal, queer drag queen estranged from their family. A heart-breaking and hilarious memoir about the author’s fight to be true to themselves, chaired by Britain’s first out Muslim drag queen Asifa Lahore as part of WoWFest: Lockdown.
