Pulp Idol 2019 - 2020
Deadline: Midnight, Sunday 14th April, 2019.
(Entries submitted after this time and date will not be accepted. Please note: This competition is only open to all writers living and working in the Greater Liverpool Region, this includes the five metropolitan boroughs: Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton, Wirral, and the city of Liverpool. If in doubt, please check your postcode and contact the organisers. Writers submitting from outside of these areas will be excluded from the competition.)
Writing on the Wall has been publishing the first chapters of the finalists in its annual Pulp Idol competition for over ten years, with many of the finalists going on to have their debut novels published, including Ariel Kahn with Raising Sparks (Bluemoose), and James Rice with Alice and the Fly (Hodder and Stoughton). All finalists get their first chapter published in a book of ‘Firsts’, which is produced in hard copy and also made available in Kindle. It is circulated to agents and publishers and each writer is presented with copies for themselves, their friends and families.

Join the novelists of the future at WoWFest19’s Pulp Idol Grand Final. Finalists will compete in the hopes of WoW-ing the judges, being crowned Pulp Idol Winner 2019 and having their novel read by a professional literary agent.
