#Storytime

Friday 5th May
Joanne Harris & the #Storytime Band

'There is a story the bees used to tell, which makes it hard to disbelieve…'

Renowned Chocolat author, Joanne Harris, joins the stage with her Storytime Band for an intimate and darkly magical show. combining original music, songs and stories as part of an exploration of different forms of narrative. Joanne describes it as  ‘Basically, Jackanory, with drums’.  Featuring tales from her yet to be released book, Honeycomb, #Storytime is a show that appeals to all ages and lovers of fantasy. Honeycomb introduces tales that Joanne first live-tweeted to audiences around the world and will now be released as e-book and hardback in September 2017.
These tales first began as exercises in different storytelling narratives and now have gone on to become songs, stage shows and even a couple of mini-operas. Written and performed by Joanne and the band of which she has been a member since she was at college, this show is engaging and quirky, appealing to audiences of all ages, but especially lovers of folklore, fantasy and fairytale. Listen to unexpected stories interwoven with original, dazzling music, travel to another world where fairy tales are told with a mysterious twist or two…
