Time: 1pm
Tickets: Free, just turn up.

Calling all magic children, have you heard of Worldquake? It’s “the most exciting debut in children’s fiction since Harry Potter!”. Join author Scarlett Thomas as we find out if we’re mages or hunters, tricksters, heroes or any of the other legendary karakters adventuring in the mysterious world of Dragon’s Green?

Scarlett Thomas has always loved stories, magic and mysterious places. She tried (and failed) to write her first novel when she was six. Since then she has successfully written lots of novels, but this is her first one for children. She lives near the sea in an old house full of books, and is a professor in the English department of the University of Kent. Dragon’s Green is the first volume in the Worldquake Sequence which comes to a thrilling close.

Dubbed “the most exciting debut in children’s fiction since Harry Potter” by Joanne Harris, the Worldquake series is a mysterious world of magic, heroes, trickers, mages, hunters, scouts, interpreters and witches! Galloglass, the triology’s finale sees Effie Truelove and her school friends Lexy, Wolf, Maximillian and Raven using their magical skills to defeat the Diberi, a corrupt organisation intent of destroying the world!
